Bo is a seasoned marketer with an extensive and unique combination of enterprise IT marketing and SaaS startup experience. In his almost 20 years in the software industry, Bo has worked with all aspects of marketing; from lead-generation and product launches to market penetrations and the full suite of digital and social marketing campaigns.
Bo started his marketing career around the turn of the century. For many years, Bo followed the traditional enterprise software path, wherein the focus was on lead-generation and sales cycles of up to 9-12 month the norm.
Wanting a more complete marketing profile, Bo started his own SaaS company on the side that sold online subscriptions directly to consumers. Bo ran this service for 5 years until it was sold on in late 2013.
With this experience, Bo invested in - and took up the position of CMO - at a small SaaS company, while still keeping his full-time job.
When the job was moved abroad, Bo founded a marketing agency with the aim of helping small and medium-sized software and technology companies.
One of the agency's customers was an online startup within sports that was about to launch in beta worldwide. Bo was asked to outline the company’s go-to-market plan and strategy for launch.
The company quickly became Bo’s biggest client and eventually asked him to join the company full time to head up their marketing function.
In this position, Bo has been focusing on user acquisition, activation, and retention as well as taking the product out of beta and acquiring paid users.
All of this has given Bo a unique insight into all facets of marketing.
One of Bo’s key strengths is that he is very strategic and highly ROI focused. He understands how to run an effective marketing function on a small budget and he is always looking for ways to automate processes and do things better, cheaper and more efficiently.
Bo has been recognized as one of Denmark's marketing and sales talents by leading Danish business magazine., Berlingske Nyhedsmagasin.
