My initial mission was to stabilize the revenue in a fierce declining ad market
(B2B). With a legacy in print publishing we had to change the perception of the business and prove the Danish advertisers why to consider Aller as a
media partner and what our digital brand universes could accomplish in
combination with print (magazines and weeklies). We succeeded within the first year to stabilize the business reaching a 102 index.
We saw opportunities and synergies with a merge of the two sales
organizations in Aller Media (Aller Mediesalg and DG Media). The fusion
resulted in "Aller Media Business"; 65 skilled employers, 85 brands and the will to succeed. We have been going for almost half a year now and the synergies
are clearly showing themselves. Rocking the boat as we did in October of
course created a challenged atmosphere within the group of staff but I have
now succeeded in building a new ambitious feeling and spirit within the organization. People are proud of being part of this new power unit and part of a success.
Selected achievements:
• Stabilization of a declining revenue curve. Yearly revenue DKK 193 mio.
• Merging of two sales organizations including identifying new structure,
new functionalities, and execution of this new organization
• Stabilization of challenged atmosphere within personnel due to changes
and a tough market situation.
• Profitable growth of EBIDTA of 10% per year.
• New competences were needed to fit the new organization. People
development plan executed successfully.
ALLER MEDIA A/S is the leading publisher of magazines and newspaper in the Nordic region with a weekly circulation
of 3.2 million copies. In Denmark Aller Media has a yearly revenue on DKK 1 billion and a market share on weeklies of
70% and 20% on magazines. With the range of weeklies and magazines Aller Media rech more than 2.3 million Danish
women each month. All magazines can be accessed online an via social media. Aller Media Denmark employs
approx. 500 employees located in Havneholmen, Copenhagen. (www.aller.dk)
